FOUR of the Bay’s most experienced folk musicians will come together to stage The Folk Collective Music Show: Acoustic Collaboration this Friday at the Music Kitchen.

The Folk Collective consists of four musicians who, individually, are accomplished in their own right. They are Ants Keogh – a folk guitarist and harmonica player of note, John Dickin – folk guitarist and percussionist, multi instrumentalist Moorees van Aarde, whose main passion is the piano and keyboard, and Al Gillies, who plays guitar, mandolin, and on occasion a simple form of banjo.

“The Folk Collective’s songs will be (a mix of) well-known and some less known but equally memorable.

“As well as using a multitude of acoustic instruments, our vocals will melt into a collage of harmonies for all to enjoy,” said Gillies.

The show will take place at the Music Kitchen, 69 Mangold Street Newton Park on Friday, May 3 at 19:30.

Entry is R100 per person and tickets are available at the door. Bookings can be made by contacting Ian on 072 994 5096 or Al on 083 656 1166.
