Fundraiser for Animal Anti-Cruelty League

2017-06-21 06:00

A FUNDRAISER for the Animal Anti-Cruelty League (AACL) will be held on June 30 to recoup some of the funds that have been used in helping out in the fire- affected areas recently.

The Old Cash Store Organic Buffet Fundraiser promises to be an evening of camaraderie, delicious organic cuisine, with plenty of vegetarian and vegan offers.

“Our field teams were out there day and night, helping to rescue animals from Woodridge Informal Settlement, as well as pigs, goats, sheep and cattle from Thornhill, Lady Slipper, Rocklands and Greenbushes,” said Linda-Louise Swain of AACL.

“We have also been heavily involved in post-fire distribution of everything from clothing, food and water donations to wendy houses, farm fencing, gates, poles and sweetfeed grazing. These additional fuel costs, tyre wear and tear have added to our burgeoning costs in this economic climate.

“We also sterilised all the animals being returned to the Woodridge Informal settlement and secured kennels, blankets, food, water and dip for each of them.

“We are hoping that donations will cover the cost of the kennels.”

For bookings call Mandy on 083 611 1355. Doors will be open from 6:30pm and the cost is R110 for a three-course buffet meal.
