Gilbert & Sullivan to present annual Valentines’ cabaret

2016-01-20 06:00

THE Gilbert & Sullivan Society’s Valentine’s cabaret will celebrate its eighth year of entertaining the Bay next month.

The annual Valentine’s cabaret has been a popular showcase of Port Elizabeth’s talented performers, and this year is no exception.

This year the show will be called Love, Love Me Do, after the classic Beatles song.

The cabaret will be a mix of music from the charts, classics and stage performances by the likes of Jody Butler, Melissa Leander, Khuselo Gqiba, Kasvia von Memerty, Phillip Cowie and Andrea Morris with a special guest appearance by Viv von Memerty.

The Valentine’s Cabaret is not only for couples but for families and groups of friends as well.

With Valentine’s Day being on a Sunday, the show will run over four days from February, 11 to 14 at the Savoy Theatre.

The shows start at 7:30pm from February 11 to 13, and at 2pm on Valentine’s Day.

There will be a cash bar and coffee bar available with a range of refreshments on sale. Tickets cost R80 per person or R600 for a table of eight.
