Gymnasts shine at SA Gym Games

A GROUP of eight gymnasts belonging to Ibhayi Rhythmic Gymnastics Club, successfully represented the Eastern Cape at the annual SA Gym Games that was held at the TUKS University during October.

This is the biggest competition of the year for levels four to 10, as well as the high performance gymnasts.

These girls, coached by Shantell Scheepers and Jade Ryan, competed against other gymnasts from all over South Africa and Namibia.

Overall, Ibhayi walked away with medals and a high standard set for the girls to work towards next year.

Results of SA Games:

Level 4:

Emily Pattinson: Highest score for Eastern Cape in L4u13; silver medal for rope dance.

Kristin Conradie: Highest score for Eastern Cape in L4u9

Level 5:

Summer Meikle: Highest score for Eastern Cape in L5u9; bronze medal for ribbon dance

Level 7:

Kayla Blandford - Highest score for Eastern Cape in L7 u11, sixth in free dance

Chante Kotze - Highest score for Eastern Cape in high performance; bronze medal for free dance, silver medal for ball, silver medal for clubs, silver medal for ribbon.
