ONE of Nelson Mandela Bay’s most popular comedians, Roland Gaspar, is galvanising an ensemble of well-known local comedians to help put smiles on more children’s faces with his Humour with a Heart Comedy Fest at The Boardwalk Amphitheatre on July 29.

Proceeds generated from the event will be donated to the Smile Foundation which works together with the country’s Academic Hospitals to put the smile back onto children’s faces with free corrective facial reconstructive surgery and treatments.

“Comedy fans can have a great laugh with some of Port Elizabeth’s awesome comedic talent, and help put smiles on the faces of children who are unable to smile. It’s a great event with an excellent cause,” says Vuyiswa King, Events and Entertainment Manager at The Boardwalk.

Gaspar has been a professional comedian since winning Barry Hilton’s Take a Chance Gameshow in 2005.

He has since been seen in comedy-themed TV ads for Isuzu, Makro, MiWay, GetBucks and many more.

His voice has also been heard on radio ads across the city and the nation, and he has performed with many of the biggest names in SA comedy.

Amongst the comedians joining him for the Humour with a Heart Comedy Fest are Niqui Cloete-Barrass and Annaline Stiglingh, fresh from the successful run of their comic-cabaret show The Midlife Chronicles: Defying Gravity.

They will be sharing their comedic and vocal talents with hilarious results.

Also in the mix is “Big Pete” Moss, who will be adding some musical mirth to the show.

Tickets to the show are available at Computicket at R100 per person.
