Highbury tame Future Tigers on home turf in ABC League clash

2018-11-28 06:00

UITENHAGE-BASED side Future Tigers’ supporters saw their team being tamed by Highbury FC in their 1-0 loss during their ABC Motsepe League clash that took place at Rosedale Stadium in Uitenhage on Friday.

The tempo of the game was very fast, as both sides played a running football game.

The contest was closely fought in the midfield.

Both sides avoided a number of unnecessary mistakes.

The home team’s supporters expected their side to register an opening goal, but Highbury FC’s defence was solid as a rock.

The Port Elizabeth side made things happen as Siyanda “Hulk” Skosana scored the only goal that separated the two sides.

The home side pressed hard, but the visitors’ goalkeeper denied them scoring opportunities.

Skosana’s goal was good enough to seal the game 1-0 in favour of Highbury FC.

Following the recent tragic loss of their skipper, Thulani Motloung, last Sunday, PE Stars thrashed Butterworth FC 5-0 at Nelson Mandela University Second Avenue Campus Fields.

Peace Makers were anything but peaceful as they drubbed Sibanye FC 3-0 at Wolfson Stadium.

Swartkops Valley United Brothers (SUBS) salvaged a hard-fought 2-2 draw away against Birmingham City at North End Stadium in East London.

Other ABC Motsepe League results:

Tornado FC 5-1 Yakha United

The Guys 1-2 Bush Bucks AFC

Bizana Pondo Chiefs 2-0 Amavarara FC

Mthatha Bucks 2-1 Matta Milan FC
