BONGEKILE Nqiyama (Homeboy) from Ngcobo has opened another door in his life – that of being an author as well as being a hip hop artist dedicated to social issues.

Nqiyama, who now lives in Cape Town, said he was a hard- working artist who wanted to touch people’s hearts through his music.

He was also nominated at the 2015 Spiced Beef Poetry Awards in the category of Best Poetic Artist of the Year.

“My aim is to entertain the youth and to pass on messages through music,” he said.

“My passion for music began in 2013 and I have grown as an artist, with my music play-listed on local radio hip hop shows. Now I am busy with a book of Xhosa short stories titled Mawethu and my first book, titled Kasi Library EP, is already in stores,” he said.
