Haydin Payne: My vote will count this year to elect leaders that will transform our country into a better place. I’m tired of all the corruption, the stealing, the crime and unemployment. We are not safe anymore. I hope that this year’s elections will change our country and put a stop to all the negativity. Althea Jurgens: I’m voting this year to try to bring about change, especially more employment for those who are struggling to find jobs. The party that I’m voting for will definitely make that change and ensure our safety as citizens. ) Hadiya Payne (17): My vote will definitely count because I’m contributing towards changing South Africa and hopefully, to create awareness among the youth as well. We need a change and I was taught that my opinion counts. Courtney Foster (17): I’m hopeful that my vote will make a difference by creating more employment for our youth and less crime in our country. I want to make people realise that we are all the same – regardless of our skin colour. Ncumisa Gongo: A lot of people are dissatisfied with most things in our country, myself included. My vote will count to address those concerns and to be part of a better country. The party that I’m voting for will make sure that change will bring unity and to create more employment. We need to honour the legacy of Tata Madiba. ) Antonie Pieterse: Instead of sitting back and complaining, I’m voting this year to voice my opinion and to make my vote count. South Africa has changed immensely – we are all part of that change and we need the right leaders to perfect that. I’m making my cross for a better and brighter South Africa. Lindsay van Wyk: I’m voting this year to be part of the change. Our country is not what it used to be and somehow, things have to change. We need leaders and not corrupt politicians. How are they an example for our next generation? So I hope my vote will make a difference. I’m a firm believer in our country’s democracy. I’m voting to make sure that issues will be addressed by politicians who will make a difference in our country. I’m voting for my children – to ensure a better South Africa for them and the next generation.
