IT was crunch time when Young Ideas shared a hard-fought 1-1 draw against Madibaz Football in their SAFA Nelson Mandela Bay (SAFA NMB) SAB Regional League clash that took place at Motherwell NU 9 Stadium on Saturday.

The students took the game to the home side, but goalkeeper Asanda Mari stood his ground for Ideas.

Ideas’ talented youngster, Aviwe Vani, kept on unleashing shots at Madibaz’ goalkeeper, Mzwandile Mvunyiswa, who showed his class.

Madibaz took the lead after Athenkosi Papu came up with a superb goal in the 41st minute.

Ideas equalised thanks to Abongile Thwala Madela from the penalty spot in the second half. Ideas could have led 2-1, but Vani’s shot went very close to the goals with goalkeeper Mvunyiswa well beaten.

Madibaz failed to score from a set piece af-ter Ideas goalkeeper Mari collected a playback pass.
