AFTER sold out shows in both Cape Town and Johannesburg, Pieter Toerien is bringing Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s sparkling family musical “Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” to Port Elizabeth this February.
Retelling the Biblical story of Joseph and his coat of many colours, this magical musical is packed full of unforgettable songs including “Any dream will do” and “Close every door to me”.
“Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” stars Earl Gregory as Joseph, Afrikaans Superstar Nádine as the narrator and Anton Luitingh as the Pharaoh.
As in the 2004 production, the creative team is once again headed by director Paul Warwick Griffin, with musical supervision by Charl-Johan Lingenfelder, musical direction by Louis Zurnamer and choreography is by Duane Alexander.
“Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” features a stunning local cast of 23 of the best musical theatre performers and dancers in SA including Port Elizabeth’s very own Emile Doubell.
Emile is originally from PE and has performed with the Centrestage All-Star Band, as well as in the boyband Escape and is thrilled that the production will be touring to his home town of PE.
This is ‘A Technicolor Triumph’ for the whole family to enjoy. The show will run from February 2 to 12 at The PE Opera House before they embark on an international tour to New Zealand. Tickets are available at Computicket.
