MOTHERWELL Football Association (MOFA) First Division log leaders Lion City cemented their position on top of the table after they defeated fellow title contenders, Eleven Stars, 2-0 at Motherwell NU 11 Stadium on Saturday.

Stars started the game in high spirits. It took 20 minutes for City to register their opening goal, courtesy of their danger man, Luthando Konzani, who unleashed a long range powerful shot that put City 1-0 up.

It was clear that Stars wanted to equalise but their front men failed to convert. City were awarded a penalty, which was converted by Thapelo Sam in the 72nd minute.

Stars finished the game with 10 players after Lunga Twani was red-carded following a rough tackle on Benathi Sodladla, who could not carry on with the game.

Royal Bucks, who have both hands on the MOFA Premier League trophy, earned a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Young Madrid FC.

Young Tigers defeated their fellow strugglers Real Strikers 2-1 while SUBS overcame Tomorrow Stars 2-1 as well.

Young Romans defeated Manchester FC 2-1, while Highland Spurs ensured that FC Motherwell would campaign in the lower league after they embarrassed them 3-1 in their one-sided game.
