PORT Elizabeth resident, Ivan Green, is now officially competing for the title of Mr South Africa 2017.

The last time a local resident won the title of Mr South Africa was with the crowning of Denver Burns in 2010.

Green, an engineering sales representative, became motivated to participate in competitions that placed emphasis on charity work and raising community awareness after his grandfather had passed away.

He also has a background in community service as a result of his parents’ involvement in Rotary Grahamstown, a charity that fights against poverty.

His previous accomplishments include being named a finalist in Die Burger Boardwalk Mr Port Elizabeth 2014, as well as the SA Bachelor and Bachelorette 2015 competition.

He needs the community’s support to keep him in the running for the Mr South Africa 2017 competition.

To vote for him, SMS MRSA003 to 47439.
