Mayoral Cup attracts crowds

THE Walmer Football Association (Wafa) Mayoral Cup games attracted large crowds to the Walmer Community Fields on Saturday and on Sunday when the teams battled for supremacy.

In the first preliminary round game, fans saw Eleven Experience overcome Morning Stars 4-3 on penalties after the 1-1 full-time draw.

Young Aces succumbed 2-0 to African Aces, while Walmer Stars defeated Ghetto Stars 2-1 in their nail-biting clash.

Manchester United then went down 2-0 to Peace United. After playing to a goalless draw against Golden Heroes, Mabayibone Strikers won 4-2 on penalties.

In the quarter-finals, Eleven Experience embarrassed Airport Valley United 5-1 in their one-sided clash. Madrid eliminated Mabayibone Strikers 3-2 on penalties after a 1-1 full-time score in their match.

African Aces beat Walmer Hotspurs 2-0, while Walmer Stars overcame Peace United 3-1.
