Mixed weekend for SAB league sides

2018-02-07 06:01

A NUMBER of teams lost valuable points during the Safa Nelson Mandela Bay SAB Regional League games that took place on Friday and Saturday, while other teams managed to collect the three maximum league points.

Following a good start to the league season, Hearts supporters were taken aback when their side lost 2-0 to the high-riding PE Sundowns on Friday evening.

Disappointed loyal home supporters also saw their side, Young Killers, succumb 3-1 to Major Chiefs at Jabavu Rugby Stadium.

On Saturday, Roaring Tigers continued where they left off last week when they defeated Amarhamba United 2-0 at Chevrolet Stadium in New Brighton, while FC Winners played to a 1-1 draw against Motherwell Academy at Mawabo Dyubhele Community Fields in KwaDwesi.

Following their 2-0 defeat to Highland Spurs, Despatch Pioneers at least did not go home empty-handed. They shared a 2-2 draw with the gutsy Fairview Rovers at Khayamnandi Stadium in Despatch.

Mabayibone Strikers drew 0-0 with Camper United at Walmer Community Grounds, while Ikamva Movers played to a 1-1 draw against Golden Aces at Chevrolet Stadium.
