More hands needed for beach clean-up

2017-08-02 06:02

WESSA Algoa Bay branch invites the public to a beach clean-up at Cape Recife on Saturday from 9.30am to 10.30am.

Efforts will be combined with SANCCOB (the old SAMREC) Little Blues Club beach clean-up. To get to the area where the clean-up will be held, coming from Summerstrand, you turn left off Marine Drive towards Pine Lodge. Drive past Pine Lodge and stop at the boom which is the entrance to the Cape Recife Nature Reserve.

Tell the security person there that you are participating in the WESSA/SANCCOB beach clean-up. Drive to the SANCCOB parking area and park. There will be someone there to direct you when you arrive. If you park at SANCCOB, you will not need a permit to enter the reserve.

If you drive beyond SANCCOB, you will need to obtain a permit.

This will be WESSA Algoa Bay’s fifth clean-up this year and the public’s assistance is crucial in this matter.
