MOTHERWELL Academy went down 2-0 to Camper United in their SAFA Nelson Mandela Bay SAB Regional League home game at Motherwell NU 2 Stadium on Saturday.

The home team’s star player, Vuyolwethu Dinge, was tightly marked by Siphesihle Mkokeli. Camper utility player Zenande Ntyinkala played an immense role in the midfield, while Motherwell’s seasoned player, Bulelani Nongongoma, created some golden opportunities for his side, but Camper goalkeeper Mbonisi Mbele seemed unbeatable.

Camper United broke the ice after Siyabulela “Chippa” Tsewana scored a beautiful goal in the 25th minute.

Motherwell responded like a house on fire but none of their efforts resulted in an equaliser.

The visiting side defended in large numbers in order to maintain their 1-0 lead.

Camper increased their lead to 2-0 after their striker, Ludwe Sonjica, rose high to score the last goal of the match in the 85th minute.

Camper’s head coach, Gcobani Citwa, said that he was very happy to win over Motherwell.

“I am very happy to beat Motherwell at their own hunting ground. We knew that they were not easy to beat at home.

“Our tactical discipline paid dividends for us. I want to commend my boys for sticking to the game plan.”
