Nanaga ready for mountain bike invasion

2018-03-21 06:00

THE fifth annual Nanaga MTB Race will be taking place on April 22 at the popular Nanaga Farm Stall just outside Port Elizabeth.

The race includes four distances to suit all levels of fitness and expertise. Those who are participating will be able to choose from the 50km, 30km, the 15km route for beginners, and the 5km fun ride. There will be live entertainment, stalls, a kiddies play area, and refreshments on sale.

The race initially came about specifically as a fund-raising initiative for the Sunshine Coast Charity Trust.

This group of dedicated farmers and their wives are involved in a number of local community projects to help children living with and affected by HIV and Aids.

The race has grown significantly over the years, with over 700 riders entering the race in 2017, making it one of the biggest mountain bike events in the Eastern Cape.
