THE National Lottery Commission (NLC) has boosted the confidence of the Swartkops Valley United Brothers (SUBS) teams in the form of a playing kit.

According to SUBS chairman, Bongo Zondani, the kits came at exactly the right time. Zondani stated that they bought a set of kit for the u/13, u/15, Premier League side and the ABC Motsepe League side.

He said, “We decided to buy each team a brand-new set of kit, 10 soccer balls for our team that campaigns in the ABC Motsepe League, five balls for our Premier side and five balls for our junior teams.

“The remaining funds will be utilised for the registration of our teams, players’ cards, transporting our ABC Motsepe League team for its away games, match fees, hiring the fields and paying accommodation and players’ food.

“We have also bought two pairs of soccer boots for our coaches.”

Zondani revealed that the NLC has restored the dignity of SUBS teams.

“Our biggest challenge that we have faced was that our junior teams did not have kits at all. Our juniors had to wear the senior team’s kit when they were playing.

“Today, our junior teams will don the proper jerseys during their games.”
