THE Nelson Mandela Bay Sports Confederation’s new executive committee was elected in Young Park on February 27.

People from different walks of life witnessed the process of electing the new structure which will take the baton from the previous committee that was led by Kusta Magada.

The newly elected execubive committee’s term of office will run for three full years.

Well-known Eastern Province rugby administrator, Freddie Makoki, succeeded Kusta Magada as president, while Basketball South Africa and Nelson Mandela Bay Basketball Association Deputy President, Sibongile Fondini, was elected as general secretary.

Fondini’s predecessor was Sikhumbuzo Wakashe.

The other newly elected executive members of NMB Sports Confederation Committee include:

First Deputy President: Simphiwe Mkangelwa (soccer)

Second Deputy President: Victor Hlulani (handball)

Assistant Secretary: Mazizi Vumazonke (boxing)

Treasurer: Zamxolo Mdani (handball)

Coordinator of coaches: Bevan Brown (PE Klawerjas)

Facilities convenor: Themba Ludwaba (rugby)

Development convenor: Viva Mguda (handball)

Coordinator for Women Sport: Zukiswa Mashelele (boxing)

Senior Citizens Officer: Winty Gcukana (Motherwell Sport Forum)
