New informative website to spread positive news stories

2018-06-20 06:02

THE Northern Areas People Development Initiative (Napdi) will be launching a community information website, called Napedia, that will serve as a general source of information for the area.

According to Napdi trustee Paul Geswindt, the website will serve as a central information source about the various suburbs, educational institutions, sport and cultural organisations, and business and faith-based activities, as well as information about historical events and research with links to related resources.

He said the community must share in its development by being part of contact directories and sharing information about their organisations. Some organisations have proud histories, but information is often not broadly available. A major goal of the repository is to share achievements of individuals, teams and organisations because negative stories often dominate the media.

Napedia will be going live today, June 20 at the South End Museum at 18:00. Interested parties are welcome to attend. RSVP to 041 457 1422.
