NELSON Mandela University’s (NMU) Symphony Orchestra is preparing to host a concert called The Grand Finale at the Feather Market Hall this Sunday at 3pm.

The symphony orchestra, under the baton of Grant Snyman, a final year BMus student, will present an exciting programme, including works such as Verdi’s Rigoletto and Von Weber’s famous overture, Der Freischutz, as well as works by Dukas and Respighi.

The first half of the concert will conclude with Daniel Leo Simpson’s Tuba Concerto, performed by fourth year BMus student, Tiago Vital.

The orchestra will also be joined on stage by the nationally acclaimed Eastern Cape Children’s Choir (ECCC), which will perform The Selfish Giant, composed by leading South African composer Peter Louis van Dijk.

Tickets at R80 per adult and R50 per pensioner, learner and student tickets are available at the Bird Street Campus and will also be sold at the door.
