THE first weekend of the “Original” Walmer Park Baby of the Year competition has officially taken place, with eager parents flocking with their smiling babies and toddlers to the Walmer Park Shopping Centre to have their little ones’ photos taken.

To enter this exciting competition and join in the spirit of showing off your bouncing bundle of joy, simply visit the studio set up at the Edgars Court in the Walmer Park Shopping Centre every weekend, Friday until Sunday, from 10am to 2pm until October 23.

The charming studio is operated by professional photographer Debbie Louw. Your tot’s winning smile will be captured and you will receive two jumbo-sized photographs once the competition has drawn to a close.

Photographs will be displayed at the studio for the duration of the competition.

The age categories are 0-6 months, 7-12 months, 13-18 months and 19-24 months. Ten finalists from each category will be chosen, from which the top three will be announced at a fun-filled prize-giving event, held on October 29 in the main promotions arena at the Walmer Park Shopping Centre.

Fantastic prizes will be awarded to the top tots chosen from each category, proudly sponsored by Dischem, the Baby Gym, Toddlers Workshop, Edubaby, Francarlo Designer Goldsmith, Kodak Express, Debbie Louw Photography, Edgars, Pick n Pay, Baby Builders, Circular Health, Rain, Dulce café, Capitec Bank and Happy Little Humans.

“This is the longest-running ‘Mall Owned’ Baby Competition in the Eastern Cape, and with more than 700 entries received each year we are proud to be celebrating 25 years of the cutest babies at Walmer Park. The competition started in 1991 and Debbie Louw from Debbie Louw Photography has been the in- house photographer for the past 15 years,” marketing manager Deveda Bloem said.

Only colour photographs, taken by Debbie Louw at the in-centre studio, will be eligible for entry into the competition. Parents can collect their baby’s photographs from Kodak Express Walmer Park from November 2 and not before.

You know that your tot is the cutest, so don’t delay in entering the Walmer Park Shopping Centre Baby of the Year 2016.
