ONE of Port Elizabeth’s own, Scott Geduld, will make his home town proud once again when he represents South Africa at the International Arts Talent Showcase in the United States of America in July 2019.Known by his fans as ScottyG, he started his rise to fame in 2016 when he won the first-ever PeGotBard rapping competition that was held on Facebook. After that, it was all systems go for him. Following that, ScottyG released his album, Face of the Moon, in April 2017 and won the award for Best Rap Artist in the Eastern Cape at the Gabriel Global Gospel Awards. This year, on July 7, he auditioned for the International Arts Talent Showcase at the Opera House and made it to the Johannesburg auditions that were held on October 5 and 6. Kim Myers from the Applause Rising Talent and Rhavynn Drummer, independent casting director of the Tyler Perry Studios, were judges. ScottyG recently received a call back from Myers to represent South Africa at the arts convention next year.“He will be going through two intensive training boot camps to prepare him for the international platform and he will be attending workshops and be part of the showcase in the United States,” said Crystal Geduld, ScottyG’s mother. “There will also be opportunities for him to win awards and scholarships and we are crossing our fingers for that.”Fans can listen to the album, Face of the Moon, at ScottyG#np on #SoundCloud.
