Penalty shoot-outs decide outcome in quarter-finals

THREE Port Elizabeth teams have booked their spots in the semi-finals of the Nelson Mandela Bay Industrial League Knockout Competition, following some exciting games which took place at Shatterprufe Field on Sunday.

Sovereign Foods booked themselves a place in the semi-finals after they thwarted Famous Brands 3-1 on the Shatterprufe Struandale Field.

Shatterprufe Struandale also advanced to the semi-finals after they overcame Autocast 4-3 on penalties following their regulation’s time 2-2 draw.

Following their full-time goalless draw, Willard Batteries salvaged a 3-0 win on penalties over BASF.

Three more quarter-final games will be played at Marock Road Grounds on Sunday, October 13.

Tenneco Deal Party will take on Ford at 09:00, while Contitech will face Faurecia Port Elizabeth at 10:30, followed by a match between Mpact and Eveready at 12:00.
