Residents warned of NMB employees asking for money

2017-12-13 06:01

THE Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality has issued a warning after the Public Health Directorate has received complaints about alleged Municipal Waste Management employees approaching residents requesting payment.

“The municipality would like to notify all NMBM residents that such requests must not be entertained as municipal staff receive a salary as well as an annual bonus,” municipal spokesperson Mthubanzi Mniki said.

Residents are to notify the Public Health Directorate at 041 506 7405 or the customer care services contact number at 0800 205 050 should they be approached for such requests.

Mniki added that residents should make a note of the vehicle fleet number or registration number of these perpetrators in order for complaints to be investigated.– REPORTER
