Riders to converge for final Supercross challenge

RIDERS from all over the country and even Zambia will be competing in the gruelling Supercross Invitational challenge at Rover Motorcycle Club on Sunday, December 16.

The event, which is sponsored by Cannabis Energy Drink, starts at 09:00 on Sunday with practice, leading to qualifier rounds and three heats.

Prize money is now over R40 000 and riders who win all three heats in their class also win a bonus award.

The SX Invitational top class prize money is R6 000 for first place and if a rider wins all three heats, he or she gets an additional R4 000 bonus.

Riding in the Cannabis Energy Drink Team will be Andrew Wren in the SX Invitational Class on bike #191, Andrew Pretorius in the SX Senior Class on bike #91 and Kyle Townsend in the SX Classics class on bike #128.

Other top riders will be Keegan Hickson-Mahony , Anthony Raynard, Nathan Victor, Liam Botha, Kyle Joosten, Dillon Lerm, Johan Vogeleslang, Royce Griffin, Craig Kruger, Matthew Buys, Luke Krull, Michael Swanepoel, Andre Swart and Dan Goldberg.

The SX classes will be SX 50cc, SX Junior, SX Classics Junior, SX Classics Senior, SX Seniors and then the top class SX Invitational.

Prizes will not only be for first, second and third places but also ‘holeshot’ prizes of over R500 and awesome hampers to be won.

This event is the final Supercross challenge in Port Elizabeth at Rover MCC, Victoria Drive, Schoenmakerskop.

Spectator entry fee is only R30 per person and children under 12 are free.
