Rowers bring back a fist full of medals from Nationals

ROWERS of the Zwartkops Rowing Club in Redhouse brought home many medals from the South African National Championships which were held recently at the Roodeplaat Dam in Pretoria.

Some of South Africa’s top rowers participated in the event.

Results:

•1st in JW15 4x+ Sante Venter, Phillipa Robinson (Daniel Pienaar High School), Kaylin Wilemse (Hoërskool Brandwag) Zoe Linde, and Karla Van As (Laerskool Albertyn)

•1st in JW15 2x Phillipa Robinson and Sante Venter (Both from Daniel Pienaar High School)

•1st in MC 4x- Michael Kaplen, Aphiwe Elese, Kwandile Dayimani and Maxiole Mava

•3rd in JM16 4x+ Similo Pama (Morningside High School), Sonwabile Jack(Woolhope High School), Elliot Brown (Motherwell High School) and Bradley Penrith (Pearson High School)

Rowing now goes into the winter training season and this is an ideal time to learn the sport which caters for all ages from 10 years onwards, socially or competitively.
