“HIS name means helper. I chose his second name, Malachi, which means my angel. And he is definitely my angel.”So said Natasha Gordon, mother of this year’s winner of the PE Express’s Christmas baby competition, Ezra Malachi Gordon from Kabega Park, who will be celebrating his first Christmas next week.As the only child of Natasha and Bruce Gordon, Ezra loves dancing to his musical toys, especially his pull-along turtle with the ABC song.Ezra, born on January 27, keeps everyone on their toes and loves giving and receiving attention. Natasha said she saw the competition on the PE Express’s Facebook page and entered his pictures a few hours before the closing time.“When Tanya van Zyl from the PE Express called me, I was so busy at work. “When I realised that it had something to do with me entering the competition, my heart jumped with excitement. I was so happy and wanted to scream when I heard he won. It was very unexpected,” Natasha said.The busy bee with his feisty personality, knows exactly what and when he wants something. According to his mother, he is very vocal, loves a lot of attention and sleeps mostly through the night. “He is definitely a people person. He is also the sweetest and loves giving and receiving affection with a lot of cuddles and kisses to share,” Natasha said.Ezra’s favourite meal is chicken and veggies and after he eats his own meal, he usually looks forward to a second helping from his parents’ plates.For little Ezra’s first Christmas, a Christmas tree will be decorated as a family and Ezra will open his gifts on the day. “We are thinking of getting him a big toy car. I’m sure he will love it. We will also be spending quality time with our bigger family as this is our first Christmas with Ezra,” Natasha said.
