SAPS in Kabega Park has awarded 32 appreciation certificates to 16 crime fighting structures and fostered an excellent working relationship with their external partners.

According to police spokesperson, Colonel Priscilla Naidu, fighting crime is everyone’s responsibility in order to ensure a safe and secure environment for all people.

“It is important for the SAPS to work in close unison with the community and business sector. Various community structures such as the neighbourhood watch, community watch and Boerevereniging in Fitchards Corner are some of the force multipliers in our fight against crime.

“The Community Policing Forum (CPF) contributed immensely in ensuring that the social crime prevention programmes are successfully implemented,” Naidu said.

Various organisations and businesses, which include GEM Projects, Kuyga Youth coordinator, Spar Group, as well as Badge and Trophy Guy, were recognised for their unwavering and generous contributions towards the youth and poor communities.

Naidu added, “Any obstacle can be overcome if there is a dedicated, passionate and focused driven team. Focusing on problems would never result in the positive, however finding solutions and turning them into success stories is what makes all the difference.

“Teamwork and a dedicated team will soar above the criminals and together we can give back to the community what they truly deserve – peace and harmony in a safer community.”
