A RECORD number of over 200 entries have been received for the race meeting to be held at Aldo Scribante Raceway on November 19 to celebrate the circuit’s 42nd birthday anniversary.

The circuit opened in November 1972.

The event will be a feast of day and night racing with short Sprint races at the beginning of the day, starting with the first race at 10am, while the afternoon will see the Klinicare PE 100 for Historic Motorcycles and the Auto Motorcycles PE 200 Endurance race for motorcycles.

This will be followed by the Three Hour Endurance for cars that is scheduled to start at 6pm and finish at 9pm under lights.

The Ford and Friends category for cars has over 70 entries at the time of going to press and will include competitors from Cape Town, Classic Touring Cars and Eastern Cape Dunlop Historic classes, Sports and GT, and open wheeler races, as well as Algoa Motorsport Regional Modifieds and Clubmans.

The event has attracted a number of South African National title winners and competitors to enter the gruelling Endurance races.

In the PE 200, two South African Super Bike Champions, Arushen Moodley will take on the likes of Greg Gildenhuys that should see a fast and furious battle over a 40-lap race.

In the AMSC Three Hour Endurance Race Ian Shrosbree, a past Formula Ford Champion, will be taking on the likes of multiple South African Karting Champion and a previous winner of the Three Hour event, Chassen Bright.

The gates will open at 7am and the entry fee will be R50 per car.
