SUBS played to a 2-2 draw against Yaka United in their ABC Motsepe League clash at Motherwell NU 2 Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The home side, playing in the stadium with fewer than 20 supporters, took the game to the Bizana outfit which looked to be affected by long journey fatigue.

SUBS’ striker, Sikhumbuzo Mshweshwe, kept on testing the United goalkeeper, Hlalanathi Makuala, who was on top of his game.

A perfect cross from Boy Zondani enabled Athenkosi Latile to squeeze the ball into the back of the net, resulting in SUBS leading 1-0 in the 36th minute.

United’s tall striker, Ndibulele Matikinca, scored an easy equalising goal after SUBS defence’s concentration lapsed in the 40th minute of the game.

United came back strongly, with the hosts being under pressure.

The visitors’ trio, Ayabonga Mzazela, Lindani Mqina and Nkululeko Dinya, were the most influential players in the Bizana side.

Following their outstanding joint performance, Dinya scored a spectacular shot, which beat SUBS’ goalkeeper, Luxolo Grimes, in the 78th minute.

But SUBS soon cancelled out the joy of United, when Luvuyo Seyile was rewarded with an equaliser in the 81st minute of the game.

When the referee’s whistle blew, the match ended in a 2-2 draw.
