SUBS notch up first league victory of the season

FANS were treated to football of a high standard when SAFA Eastern Cape hosted a number of fascinating ABC Motsepe League games on Friday and on Saturday.

Motherwell football fans saw Swartkopsvalley United Brothers (SUBS) register their first win of the season when they claimed a well-deserved 2-1 victory over Yaka United at Motherwell NU 2 Stadium on Friday evening.

Playing in front of their home supporters, Sibanye FC failed to overcome the rookies Bhisho Stars in their game that ended in 1-1 draw at Gelvandale Stadium, which also took place on Friday evening.

PE Stars played to a 2-2 draw when they hosted Bush Bucks at Saints Fields in Gelvandale on Saturday afternoon.

Following their recent hard-fought 1-0 win over PE Stars, Highbury suffered a 1-0 away defeat against the ABC Motsepe League’s oldest side, Matta Milan, at Dutywa Stadium on Saturday.

Nelson Mandela Bay side, Peace Makers, passed a very tough assignment when they defeated Bizana Pondo Chiefs 1-0 at Wolfson Stadium in KwaZakhele on Saturday.
