NEW Brighton-based outfit, PE Sundowns, produced an impressive performance to defeat Camper United 2-0 in their SAFA Nelson Mandela Bay SAB Regional League clash, which was played at Motherwell NU 9 Stadium on Saturday.

The visitors showed from the word go that they were hungry for maximum points.

As such, Downs’ star player, striker Sihle Pogba Mbatha, was nearly rewarded with an early goal, but Camper goalkeeper Mbonisi Mbele was equal to the task.

At one time, Camper’s right wing, Lifa Cena Teyise, laid a perfect pass to Siphesihle Jiji Mkokeli but his effort unfortunately went wide.

In the second half, Sundowns came out brimming with confidence and continued where they left off.

Malibongwe Thwala Maseti played a phenomenal role for Sundowns and was named the man of the match for his good moves.

Lonwabo Ngqondela netted a goal for Sundowns in the 65th minute.

Camper went all out in search of an equaliser.

Sundowns increased their goal tally to 2-0 after Songezile Song Macota banged in the last goal in the 80th minute.

The win moved Sundowns to the top of the log table.
