THE Boardwalk is celebrating its 16th birthday this month and the milestone will be marked with a super-charged line up of shows and promotions in October.

“Our success over the years is due to the passion, commitment and enthusiasm of our team, and the support and loyalty of our community. We have no plans to lose any of the momentum we’ve gathered over the past 16 years,” said Brett Hoppé, General Manager of The Boardwalk.

“We are also enormously appreciative of the support we have received from the community over the years and thank all of our customers for their loyalty,” said Hoppé.

Entertainment and events on the cards for October include the following:

. Ashley Pienaar’s musical showcase, Bring Back the Legends, on October 21 at 7pm

. An inspiring ladies’ breakfast with Alison Botha, author of “I Have Life”, on October 22

. A music concert with Ray Dylan, Len Muller and Sharoney on October 26

. The Black Tax comedy show with comedian Celeste Ntuli on October 29

. Live entertainment by local bands every Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the Bravo Bar.

The Boardwalk boasts a state-of-the-art casino, an amphitheatre, the five-star Boardwalk Hotel, a variety of restaurants and retail outlets, a world-class Africology Spa, the Boardwalk International Convention Centre and conferencing facilities.

The Boardwalk’s exceptional conferencing facilities and holistic service have also seen the hotel play host to high profile conventions and conferences.

According to Hoppé, it is however not only about creating fun.

“The Boardwalk takes tremendous pride in its role as a corporate citizen of Port Elizabeth and continuously strives towards excellence to enhance the complex’s appeal so as to promote tourism to Nelson Mandela Bay and thereby contribute to the local economy.”

“From the very beginning, The Boardwalk has put in place numerous social and environmental responsibility programmes, striving wherever possible to support organisations and initiatives with causes close to its heart and the heart of the community,” said Hoppé.
