THE Swanlake Gardens in Port Elizabeth will be hosting a Garden Festival on October 22 and 23.

The sculptures of Marius Lourens will be exhibited during the festival as the Swanlake Gardens have been his canvas for the past five years.

The objective of the Garden Festival is to work with the interior of the garden, and to present it as a playful living space, with lots of art, elements of art and sculpture.

“It will be the first time in five years that I officially do art and it was an exciting challenge to create sculptures. They will be presented in two-dimensional form and cut out of steel,” said Lourens, who co-owns the Swanlake Gardens with his wife, Mariana.

The theme of the festival is “My Garden Canvas”. The festival will take place on October 22 and 23 from 9am to 5pm at the Swanlake Gardens in Kragga Kamma Road and will include:

.Swanlake Stoepstories by Fonnie du Plooy and Andrew Johnson on October 21 at 7pm. Entry is R60 per person

.The Treble Tonez show, conducted by Elbe Coetzee, will officially kick off the Garden Festival on October 22 at 10:30pm. Entry is R20 for adults and R10 for children under the age of 12
