IT was back to the league programme this weekend when the SAFA Nelson Mandela Bay SAB Regional League hosted their first league games for 2020.

The teams looked rusty after returning from a long festive break.

Be that as it may, Madibaz Football suffered their 1–0 home defeat to PE Sundowns at South Campus on Friday evening.

Motherwell Academy then continued with their dismal performance after they lost 2–0 to Bay Tigers FC in front of their home supporters at Motherwell NU 2 Stadium on Saturday.

Lion City were on the receiving end in their 3–1 loss to Roaring Tigers at Motherwell NU 2 Stadium.

Camper United salvaged three league points after they overcame the struggling Young Teenagers 2–0 at Motherwell NU 2 Stadium on Saturday.

Highland Spurs had to wear their socks off to get a 3–2 win over Motherwell School of Excellence at Jabavu Stadium in KwaNobuhle.

Golden Aces drew 1–1 with Stinging Bees at Zwide Stadium, while Despatch Pioneers earned a narrow 3–2 win from Westville Academy at Khayamnandi Sports Field in Despatch.

On Sunday, Major Chiefs managed to defeat the New Year’s Cup winners, New Brighton Academy, 2–1 during their game that was played at Zwide Stadium.
