TO the dismay of many football supporters, some of the teams failed to arrive on time for their Nelson Mandela Bay Industrial Football League games on Sunday.

The loyal supporters of Distell saw their side losing their game on soft points to Lemaitre for arriving late at the Gelvan Fields. It was also a huge disappointment to the football fans when Super Steel Uitenhage failed to honour their game against Tenneco Struandale, following their late arrival at the same venue.

Continental claimed a hard-fought 3-2 victory over the title contenders, Willard Batteries, in their exciting game that was played at the Shatterprufe Grounds in Struandale.

In what was described as the humdinger of the day, spectators saw Autocast overcoming Eveready 1-0 at Marock Road Fields.

Faurecia Port Elizabeth were ruthless in defeating Eberspacher 4-2 in their game that was played at Marock Road Fields. Fans stood on their feet when they watched a six-goal thriller as Super Steel Uitenhage shared a 3-3 draw with Tenneco Struandale at Gelvan Field.

Sovereign Foods were crowned as the KC Hendricks Cup winners after they defeated Shatterprufe Struandale 6-5 on penalties after the match ended in a 6-6 draw at Shatterprufe.

According to the NMB Industrial Football League match secretary, Esrom Fisher, it was a very enthralling contest as both sides gave good account of themselves.
