Top netball teams claim trophies

REAL Rovers, Flying Eagles and Amathole NC each walked away with trophies in front of hundreds of supporters who had gathered at Mawabo Dyubhele Community Stadium in KwaDwesi to watch their teams lock horns during Joe Slovo Netball Association’s successful tournament on Saturday and Sunday.

The tournament, which was played in a round robin format, was organised for u/16s, u/19s and seniors, with the team with the most points in each age group receiving a floating trophy and gold medals, while the second and third placed teams went home with silver and bronze medals respectively.

In the u/16 section, Real Rovers produced an outstanding performance that helped them claim the trophy. Rainbow Stars finished the tournament in the second place, while Lovers Lane claimed third place.

In the u/19 section, Flying Eagles walked away with the winners’ trophy, while Mighty Tigers finished in the second place.

Fans saw the Uitenhage side, Amathole NC, win the trophy in the seniors’ section.

Real Rovers NC and Bush Bucks NC finished in the second and third places respectively.
