ONLY four points separate the top four teams in the PELFA Old Buck Gin League.

Central Acemates held on to their slender one-point lead at the top of the log with a hard-earned 2-1 win over Westpark.

The half-time score was 0-0. Acemates eventually clinched the match with goals from Khaya Saziwa and Melikhaya Mdlalo deep into the second half.

The second placed Callies also had a close game, finally overcoming NMBM 2-1.

Callies’ first goal came from Razeen Davids after a great one-touch play by Dillon Germshuys and Nigel Bailey.

Their second goal was a penalty, scored by Moenier Safedien.

The third placed Mahle Old Grey kept the pressure on the front runners when they recorded a 5-3 win over African Leopards.

Old Grey led the match 2-0 at half-time with goals from Jason Aitken and Travis La Mude.

In the second half, Aitken helped himself to his second goal, followed by goals from Scott Keevy and Maraks Bezuidenhout.

Kuyga Masters whipped Shamrocks 5-1.

For Kuyga, Bandile Mata helped himself to two braces. Mpumelelo Solomon netted another goal in the 30th minute to make the half-time score 3-0 in Kuyga’s favour.

Isheunesu Mazvarira scored 10 minutes into the second half and Mzikayise Jacob netted another from a free kick in the dying minutes of the game.

Bubble Naidoo netted one for Shamrocks 12 minutes into the second half.

Fairview Rovers missed a chance to improve their log position when they were held to a two all draw by St Albans.
