Twee aan spits van Baywest se internasionale visie

Baywest-winkelsentrum se nuwe hoofbestuurder, Tony Zunckel, en nuwe bemarkingsbestuurder, Chris Hutchings, bring belangrike globale insigte na die bestuurspan by hierdie gewilde Oos-Kaapse sakesentrum.

Zunckel het onlangs na Suid-Afrika teruggekeer na meer as 10 jaar se internasionale besigheidservaring in Dubai, terwyl Hutchings verantwoordelik was vir die loodsing van drie van die Regus Management Group se internasionale besigheidsentrums in die Oos-Kaap. Hierdie sakereus is op die Londense Effektebeurs gelys.

Zunkel het die afgelope vyf jaar verskillende bestuursrolle in die Al Futaaim Group in Dubai beklee, en was ook tot onlangs die hoof van dié groep se modeafdeling in die Middel-Ooste en Noord-Afrika (MENA) -streek, met internasionale handelsmerke soos Guess, Esprit, F&F en Ted Baker (Egipte) op hul kerfstok. Hierdie portefeulje sluit in meer as 90 winkels in nege lande.

“My internasionale ervaring gee my ’n globale perspektief van die kleinhandelbedryf, wat my in staat stel om van die beste besigheidspraktyke met Baywest-winkelsentrum se klante te deel,” sê Zunckel.

Hy beskou die unifikasie van geharde winkels met aanlyn kleinhandel as een van die grootste uitdagings vir winkelsentrums wêreldwyd.

“Die voorste winkelsentrums in die Midde-Ooste is vinnig oppad om ware e-handel-deelnemers te word deur middel van gesofistikeerde webwerwe, digitale tussenskakeling met verbuikers en mobiele kommunikasie met winkelbesoekers binne en buite die sentrum,” verduidelik hy.

Zunckel sien sy aanstelling as ’n gulde geleentheid en is opgewonde dat Baywest homself posisioneer as die land se mees tegnologies gevorderde winkelsentrum.

“My visie is die daarstelling van ’n toepaslike wêreldklas-winkelsentrum wat ten volle geïntegreerd is met verskillende gemeenskappe en sy verbruikers,” voeg hy by.
