THE unique and popular Town Lodge Business Night Relay returns to the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on the last Tuesday of each month, starting at the end of May through till August and is open to all companies, educational institutions, schools and social clubs or groups with entries now open.

The Town Lodge Night Relay offers a fun corporate team building opportunity with a relay race through one of the most impressive multi-purpose stadiums.

The event is open to teams comprising 5 runners or 3 walkers with each team member running/walking a 3.5km route within the stadium precinct, taking in 3 levels of the majestic stadium, before handing the baton to their team mate.

On the last Tuesday of each month, registration for pre-registered teams will open at 4pm with the run relay starting at 6pm and the walkers two minutes later.

Prize giving takes place at 8am with floating trophies, medals and City Lodge Hotels group breakfast vouchers for category winners in the walk team, men’s run team, ladies’ run team and mixed run team categories. Fantastic lucky draw prizes are up for grabs each race night which will include a R500 Caltex fuel voucher and R1 000 cash.

For registration purposes, only the team captain/representative needs to register the team and team members can change throughout the Series. Within the competitive arena, the run relay is dominated by the teams from Gamble Pharmacy and Transnet whilst on the social front PW Harvey, Coega, SPAR DC and the City Lodge Hotels Group are just a few of the companies that enter multiple teams each month.

Dirty fun in store for all

At the end of the month great fun will be had by all seeking a run of a different kind when the Edge Muck Run takes place at Bushpig Adventures on Saturday, April 23 and Sunday, April 24.

An extremely fun-filled 5km obstacle course, and a kids 2km version, will feature many exciting obstacles and promises to be a lot of fun for the whole family. Together with the Castle Lite Beer Garden, food stalls and the Woodlands Dairy Kids Zone there’ll be something to keep all entertained.

Builders Warehouse have teamed up with Gardena for the new ‘Clean your Muck’ shower and change room whilst Powerade will have a refreshingly cold drink to help freshen up after the run. Secure your entry now on www.MuckRun.co.za.

Urban run heads for East London

Started in Port Elizabeth in 2011, the Urban Run charity event will be taking place in East London this weekend thanks to the support of the Eastern Cape Parks and Tourism Agency.

Another of Zsports’ unique events, the Urban Run is the only charity fundraising event of its kind in South Africa and to date has raised over R750 000 for local charities whilst bringing thousands of people back to the City Centre to witness recent Urban Rejuvenation.

The Buffalo City will be run on the exact same basis as the PE Urban Run with CHOC Childhood Cancer Foundation being the beneficiary in East London. See www.urbanrun.co.za for further information.
