WESTERING Primary School learners will present their rendition of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast JR. from September 18 to 21.

The musical, designed for primary school performers, is based on the 1994 Broadway production and Disney’s 1991 film, which in turn was based on Leprince de Beaumont’s French fairy tale of the same name.

The cast contains approximately 500 learners, led by director Karen Maree, choreographer Sharné Osborne and musical director Richard Campbell.

This is the first time in many years that Westering Primary School will put on a show of this calibre.

In previous years, they have showcased the entire school in fun, school-written shows. It is with great excitement that they have decided to stage such a production.

Beauty and the Beast JR. will feature classic songs from the award-winning film score such as Be Our Guest and Belle.

The production is open to everyone and will take place at Westering Primary School from September 18 to 21 at 7pm. Tickets at R40 per person are available from the school on 041 360 7818. Bookings are essential.
