THE winner and two runners-up for this year’s Miss Matric Dance were announced during a fun, informal movie morning last Tuesday.

Eileen van der Westhuizen from Pearson High School and Danelle Rensburg from St Thomas Secondary School were announced as the second and first runners-up respectively. And the Miss Matric Dance 2015 crown went to Sameera Scharneck from Theodor Herzl school. *Read more about Sameera on the front page.

More than 300 qualifying online entries were received in this year’s competition, but only ten could be chosen as the finalists, which was a very difficult decision as there were so many beautiful girls who entered.

And from all the entries received this year, it was clear that different shades of turquoise or sea-green were the trending colours of 2015.

The panel of judges had a very difficult decision in choosing the winner, because the ten finalists all looked gorgeous in their own way.

These girls were all treated to a movie morning at Ster-Kinekor’s Cine Prestige at the Baywest Mall. First the winner was announced and afterwards the finalists watched the newly-released Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 in 3D.
