Winter Wonderland of creativity awaits

2019-06-26 06:00

A WINTER Wonderland will delight market goers at the Locally Yours Market at the Tramways building taking place on Saturday, June 29.

Coinciding with the winter holidays, there will be an array of creative crafts and cuisine to enchant local families and visitors.

The Locally Yours Market prides itself on showcasing the best handmade, grown, crafted, cooked, baked and designed goods by local entrepreneurs from around the Eastern Cape.

Remaining committed to support local and collaborate with local business, Locally Yours Market will be running a competition in collaboration with Alan Tours where market goers stand the chance of winning an adventurous two-hour tour of Cape Recife valued at R1 500.

Among the entrepreneurs debuting at the market are a father and daughter, a first for the market, who will be introducing their beautiful handmade ranges. Mark from “Making a Mark’ will be introducing his bespoke and contemporary furniture designs while Roxzanne from Pure Dust Creations, his daughter, will have her beautiful journals on sale.

The Winter Wonderland will definitely cater for the entire family and that includes treats and spoils for pets from Across the Breeds, while My Gift offers beautiful hand sewn shweshwe dog and cat beds.

“We also want to make a special appeal to market goers to assist us with donating much needed food and blankets for the Animal Anti-Cruelty League which can be dropped off at designated points at the market,” confirmed market director of the Locally Yours Market, Annelize Botha

To stay ahead of the shivers this winter @Karoo’s will be selling Gluhwein and Gluhwein kits while Food with Thought introduces hearty soups. Better known for their frozen home-cooked meals and event catering, Chef Binneman from Food with Thought has recently launched a private catering service for event based dinners at home, so be sure to stop to chat to them if you’re planning a special occasion.

A collaboration between S&A Screenprinting and Locally Yours market recently saw phenomenal participation by locals in the competition to submit designs for a one of a kind Locally Yours Market shopping bag.

The Winter Wonderland themed market will be no different with a variety of activities and competitions for market goers to participate in.

Director of the market, Annelize Botha, said, “We are so grateful for the support from locals thus far and will continue in our endeavour towards the development of local entrepreneurs whilst creating innovative activities for locals and visitors of Nelson Mandela Bay.”

The Locally Yours Market have waived their entrance fee and have instead opted to ask for donations towards the Animal Anti-Cruelty League. The market date is Saturday June 29 from 09:00-15:00 at the Tramways building.
