VEEPLAAS-BASED side Young Teenagers have finally realised the dream of winning the Safa Nelson SAB Regional League promotional play-offs after defeating Nafa Premier League champions Wolves 3-1 at Motherwell NU2 Stadium on Sunday.

Teenagers, who are affectionately known as AmaChina, have failed for many seasons to qualify to play in the regional league.

AmaChina have become the first PEEFA side to qualify for the promotional games since the advent of Safa Nelson Mandela Bay.

Solar Stars was the only PEESA side to win the promotional play-offs in the former Safa Eastern Province Football Union league more than 24 years ago. As things stand, AmaChina qualified in grand style after they deservedly defeated Wolves 3-1.

Teenagers’ head coach, Mzikayise Sister, said he was very happy about their victory.

Sister said, “I am very happy that we have qualified to play in the regional league. On the previous occasions we were unfortunate but now our dream has come true. It is long overdue but these boys have done us and our LFA very proud. I want to thank our players for giving a good account of themselves.”

History was also made by Nebfa Premier League champions Stinging Bees after they defeated Mofa Premier League champions Showvillage United Brothers 2-0 in their promotional game.

In the last three Nebfa seasons, Bees have been showing that they have what it takes to play in the top-flight league. Bees will join other Nebfa sides –– PE Sundowns, Roaring Tigers and Bush Bucks –– in the Safa Nelson Mandela Bay SAB Regional League.
