12-year-old caught with 9mm

Police confiscated a 9mm pistol from a 12-year-old Eastridge learner.

Focusing on a safer and peaceful festive season, police in the Mitchell’s Plain police cluster held 51 crime-prevention operations last week in the Lentegeur, Strandfontein, Mitchell’s Plain, Philippi, Grassy Park, Lansdowne and Steenberg policing areas, driven by cluster commander Major-General Abraham Gregory Goss.

Officers held vehicle checkpoints, handed out pamphlets and issued fines to the value of R22 500.

Police also arrested four wanted suspects.
