Police in the Mitchell’s Plain Cluster arrested 212 suspects for narcotics.

From Friday 27 May to Friday 3 June, police executed several crime prevention operations which led to the 200 arrests for drug related crimes.

Drugs confiscated includes 41 heroin units, 773 packets of tik, 291 mandrax tablets and 6499g dagga.

Police also confiscated five firearms.

On Wednesday 1 June at 14:30 on the corner of Eisleben Road and Snap Dragon Road, Lentegeur a 26-year-old man was working on a taxi next to the road when three men approached the victim and started shooting. The man was declared dead on the scene and suffered multiple body wounds.

Two suspects, aged 17 and 18, were arrested and have appeared in court on charges of murder.

Cluster police management wish to thank all community structures who joined the police in combating crime.
