3 men arrested this weekend

Police arrested three men in connection with unrelated incidents over the past weekend.

In the most recent incident on Saturday at 23:30, Mitchell’s Plain Police received information of drug dealing at a house in Bicycle Crescent, Beacon Valley.

The officers arrived at the house and saw a man with a leather bag in his hand.

Officers searched the bag and found 38 packets filled with mandrax tablets and 151 stoppe of dagga inside the bag.

The 24-year-old man faces a charge of illegal drug possession and will appear in court soon.

In an unrelated case, Metro Police officials were doing stop and searches in Drakensberg street, Tafelsig at 23:15 on Friday when they saw a man walking in the road.

The man was asked to be searched and police found a bankie of dagga.

Officers then asked the man for his address and he was escorted home. There police continued their search and found a browning’s firearm and a fully loaded ­magazine.

The 26-year-old man was arrested and faces charges of possession of an illegal firearm and ammunition.

In another case, also on Friday at 22:00, Mitchell’s Plain police officers were conducting stop and searches in Gazelle Street, Eastville.

Other officers were also on patrol in and around the area.

The officers noticed a suspicious man while on patrol and they stopped him.

Officers found a revolver and a Silver Colt 765mm Pistol with a magazine and two 765mm live bullets in his bag.

The guns were confiscated.

The 32-year-old man was arrested for possession of illegal firearm and ammunition and will appear in court soon.
