3 of 5 escapees found

2016-02-02 06:00

Three of the five men who escaped police custody last week have been arrested. Police have confirmed that three men, aged between 21 and 33 years, have been found.

One of the fugitives was arrested the day after breaking out, while the others were arrested within four days of the jailbreak.

Two men were arrested on Sunday 24 and Monday 25 January in the Lentegeur policing precinct.

The third one was arrested in Wet Road, Eastridge on Wednesday 27 January.

The men were initially arrested in the week of 18 to 23 January.

They had been awaiting their first court appearance when they allegedly overpowered a guard and escaped from the Lentegeur holding cells (“5 escape holding cell”, People’s Post, 26 January).

Other than theft out of a car, possession of drugs and business robbery – the three men’s initial charges – they now face an additional charge of escaping from lawful custody.

Two men are still on the run.

No identikits are available at this stage.

V Anyone with information on the whereabouts of the men are urged to call police on 08600 10111.
