The Masque Theatre will be celebrating a major milestone of 60 years in existence and will commemorate this momentous occasion with a show, Proof, which will be staged in May.

The third rebooted show of the year is set to be staged at the theatre from Wednesday 15 to Sunday 18 May and Wednesday 23 to Sunday 25 May.

This show forms part of the fundraising initiative, which has been planned to celebrate the Masque Theatre’s 60th birthday.

The story follows Sam, who is brilliant and possibly “crazy”, just like her father is – or was. When he dies and leaves behind a paradigm shifting proof about prime numbers, she finds herself fighting against walking in her father’s footsteps, both mathematically and mentally, in a desperate attempt to stay in control. This production is brought to life – and to the stage – by the Fish Hoek Dramatic Society.

The theatrical stage performance is directed by Michaela Richards, and performed by Jess Pybus and Quinlan Oliphant, with the voice work performed by the ever talented Guy McDonald.

Tickets to watch Proof are now on sale at Computicket at a cost of R100 and it is promised by the directors to be a show that is not to be missed!
